Puck stupid blogger!

Well, considering that all the stuff that I wrote about the play got lost - stupid blogger, I'm crabby and refuse to write it all again- it went well, Nate Ha. rocked our world, and yep. But it was crazy at the cast parties how many couples there were!!! Like, omgoodness, lots and lots and lots- I think there were about 5 people that weren't a part of a couple that were at our cast parties. And it actually got me thinking, "Hey, this "morp" dance will be the first dance since junior year's homecoming that I haven't had a date, crazy! Maybe it could be fun..." and then I found out that, nope, I can't even go to the dance- so the only two school dances I'll get to go to my senior year are homecoming and prom- oh, wait, and Halloween, and I was Snowfest Queen, for heaven's sakes!. Poop this- I hate being in all this crap, and not really wanting to be in it. But yea, not to diss my prom date or anything- I wouldn't want to go to prom with anyone else, but prom is a totally different environment than a normal dance. I just want to have one of those days when I can just get myself looking pretty quick, and go to a dance- even if I didn't enjoy it, at least I'd still have been able to have the choice. Ah! I can't wait to graduate- I'm going to love being gone soooo much! But, alas, off to start scholarship crappola. Awdy, awdy, awdy! ;) muah!

And now for more Florida- read the other one first!

ok, I'm back! The other one hasn't posted yet, which makes me nervous, as I chose to do this instead of my other homework. But this does count as homework, so its allowed. But yes, orchestra struggled a bit, but oh, well, orchestra's hard. The choir sounded AMAZING, though, and I'm really a tough judge! All the solos were the best I've ever heard them, and everyone decided to be in tune that day. Dave and Laura and Jen and Sam came to watch- and Sam said I looked embarrassed- probably cuz I was sunburnt- lol. After performing, we went to "Illuminations" at Epcot, which wasn't as good as the first two light shows, but was still worthwhile. Beforehand, we snuck unto Spaceship Earth, even though we were told not to. It was actually pretty interesting, but as it was required for the last day, it was nice to get it over with sooner. We went back to the hotel, and I left for my Uncle Dave's at 11:30 that night.

I missed everything at Universal, but I figure thats good, cuz, since I've never been there, I don't know what I missed.:D The memorial service was actually really cool- you laughed as much as you cried, and they gave out a really funny picture of my uncle on his motorcycle,( if you know the story behind it), and CDs of the songs they played at the service, which I've been listening to a lot lately. Afterwards, they had a biker processional- which was really amazing, and so... him. They went out to a bar he liked to go to ( which I think the school board might have a problem with if they found out I was in a bar with 30 or so crying bikers), and had a few drinks (diet dr. pepper, in my case) in his honor, took a few pics, featuring "Al's Gals", and went back to Dave and Laura's for the reception and some of the best banana/pudding/pie I've ever tasted. While at the reception, I decided I'm going to save up to buy a Harley Davidson someday, cuz all of the people there were just amazing, and looked out for me, and were just cool, in general.

My dad and I made it back for the "surprise" supper at Medieval Times, which was definitely a pick me up at the end of the day, even though the really cute blue knight should have won. But I got one of the carnations he threw out to the audience. :) Yay for me. ;) The food was really yummy, and surprisingly, not that difficult to eat. And did I mention the blue knight was really cute?

Typhoon Lagoon wasn't my favorite place, but I never really take to water like a fish at sea. It felt nice to use my muscles for something other than walking, but yea, it was just alright. The rest of the last day was at Epcot, and much more fun than Typhoon Lagoon- we went to the U.K., and An and I wanted to buy rugby shirts, but didn't as they cost $55, but I got my mom real tea from London, and Amando Italian chocolate. Then we went on Mission Space, which is totally the best ride ever, but I don't want to explain it, cuz I've already had to, twice, for physics class. The moments before the ride were the best though, when they told you at least 6 times not to go on the ride if you're not good with spinning, or dark enclosed spaces, and then you get in the ride, and there's 8 barf bags for 4 people.

The plane ride home was enjoyably turbulance-y, but I slept most of the way- I was really crabby when I got back, cuz, well, mainly, I've lost that feeling of when coming home felt nice. Now, everytime I come back to Crookston, I get really crabby and want to leave again. But yes, I get to, soon! As soon as I figure out what the heck it this enrollment confirmation I was supposed to have sent in, but don't think I ever got. But yea- I really really need to go do other homework, now- Please God, let this work! Love you all! Muah!

Now for Florida...

Wow, I'm already tired of blogging. And I've only done my creative writing assignment from last last Wednesday. But, nonetheless, Florida was, overall, spectacular, and I think I should write lots about it, as my journal was due today, and I pretty much have nothing besides the assignment in here since last time he checked them. So here is, literally, a play by play of my Florida trip.

So, I got up at 3:30 am, to get to the school by 4:15, 'cause my dad was a chaperone, and had to be there early. The flight there was nice, my plane buddies were Terri Noah and Toni Grove:) It was actually kinda fun, as Anna was across the isle from me, so I quizzed she and Mrs. Grove on their 'Star Wars' trivia- they did really well, too! Did you know that 'Vadar' means 'father' in Dutch? And obviously, 'Darth' means 'dark', so those Dutch people must have had it figured out the whole time! Crazy! Arriving at the airport in Florida was wonderful, we walked outside, and the sun was just burning hot, and it was humid, and with palm trees, and all those good things. But we got to Sea World sometime in the early afternoon, I think, after a long and cold bus ride, and there I went on my first up-side-down-going rollercoaster, "Kracken", and the "totally worth the wait" Journey to Atlantis. We sat in the splash zone for the Shamu show, and got my camera soaking wet, so hopefully my pics are ok. I also got to see my Uncle Dave, and Aunt Laura, and my little cousin, Samantha,"Boo", while we were there. It was totally surreal, because it felt like we had been there forever, but we still hadn't even got to our hotel yet.

Magic Kingdom was probably my favorite day, I think partly cuz it was the first full day that I had while my Uncle Al was still alive. It started out with the chilly outside 'Magic Music Days' breakfast, that was really yummy, though rather cold. And then we went to the park, and gradually formed our little "family" of An, Erds, Me, Kris, Perry, Nate, Jordan, and sometimes Brandon, Wohl, and Becca. I went on Space Mountain three times, Splash mountain twice ( with a hilarious pic from one!), the Train one, and was dragged to "Carousel of Progress" by An. And I can't forget the Magic Carpet ride with An, and Perry in the back, shouting to the kids in front of us, "watch out! we're gonna hit you!" and "woah, this ride is AWESOME!!!" and crazy things like that. In fact, I saw a whole new side of Perry that I've never seen before- he's quite an....interesting guy. We also watched the band march down Main Street, which was an amazing experience- I was so proud of all my little band friends! After all the rides and such, we watched the Spectromagic Parade from the Schoeneberger "Secret Spot", and danced and sang in the little space we had in front of us, and drank bad coffee, and listened to Perry's dirty jokes, and that sort of thing. And then...we watched the fireworks from directly in front of Cinderella's castle, and it was so "magical!" (in An's words) And we took lots of pictures there. Then I found out my Uncle died. That was a bummer. A really really really really really big bummer. I guess it was a blessing that we could be there, I spose, for the memorial service and such, but I'll talk about that later.

So that night, I stayed at my Uncle Dave's and Laura's, and got to see Sam and my Aunt Jen, again. Who's not really my Aunt anymore, cuz she and Al got a divorce three years ago, but I still consider her to be my Aunt, instead of that other lady, Lynn, who I don't think has much idea who I am. We ate a lot, cuz we were all mourning, like true Norwegians do during such times, and I slept on the couch, and yadda yadda. I met up with my "family" in MGM at 10:00 in front of the Tower of Terror, which I had sworn against, but ended up going on twice. ( I had also sworn against anything that went upside down- scratch that.) We also went on Rockin' Rollercoaster- yay for Aerosmith and 0-60 in 3 seconds! We saw a 3D Muppet show, ( and I now am TRULY sworn against 3D shows- they make me sick) and did the back lot tours where we got a picture with the Darth Vadar Costume, and lost Jordan. We saw Beauty and the Beast, which wasn't all that impressive, but made me want to be Belle more than anything in the whole wide world- I nearly started crying when she sang the "Belle (Reprise)" - I've decided that's my theme song. We also saw the Indiana Jones Stunt show, which was totally not what I expected, but was really cool with lots of explosions and stuff. We also went on Haunted Mansion twice, which wasn't really all that scary except for when An was digging her fingers into my arm, or when she nearly got a concussion from jumping and hitting her head on the top of the seat, after Perry reached around his seat and scared her. At night, I sat with Nate and Wohl for the "Fantasmic" light show, and in front of us, we're these wonderfully sweet British people, with a ten year old red headed girl with freckles and the most adorable accent in the entire world, and next to me were people from none other than Columbus, GA (where I was born), who knew the hospital my dad worked at, and his name! But, at the show, I decided that even if i'm Belle for just the Fantasmic show, that would be ok, and a total blast. The Fantasmic show has always been one of my favorites- probably because its so elaborate *blush*.

Deep Breath.....

Then, we had the character breakfast in Animal Kingdom, which was sooooooo yummy. We went and saw Pocahontas- a kids show, a total bore, but a good kids show. Then the Festival of the Lion King- which was absolutely amazing!!! Betso and Gillian and Jeano have a really cute story from there. I won't tell it here, cuz I'm pretty sure this is already the longest post ever, and I'm really afraid I'm going to lose it all somehow, but, I'll just finish up this day, and post it, to be safe. Then, we did the Kali River Rapids, and somehow, the people that wanted to get wet (me and anna) got out pretty dry, and those that didn't want to get wet, (everyone else) got soaked! Then we went to the 'Tarzan Rocks!' show, which was really cool- a rock band, Tarzan music, and rollerblading monkeys! And then to the Dinosaur ride, which was actually a lot scarier than you would expect- I have a funny picture of Kris on that one! And then "Its Tough to be a Bug" 3D show- Boo 3D shows. And then we left to perform....

This is my assignment for Creative Writing!

So, for Mr. Davidson's class, we were to write our thoughts on the Red Lake shooting as up to date as we know. So, here goes:

At first, I was sympathetic of the person who committed such a crime, assuming that something must have gone terribly wrong in their life, for them to think they needed to take such drastic measures in order to get their point across. But as soon as I heard that he was a Neo-Nazi, I lost nearly all sympathy that I had originally. People used his being a Neo-Nazi in his defense, saying that kids teased him and didn't like him because of that, but I believe that if he's going to practice absolute intolerance of certain people, like Hitler, that there is no way he has the privelege of expecting everyone else to tolerate him. Now, obviously, there were other factors in his life that brought him to this sort of reaction, but I can't help but think that there are always people who have it worse, and who have gone through the things that he's gone through, without taking it out on innocent people.

As far as it happening in Crookston, I'm sure it could. Crookston is filled with people with problems; whom have suffered through awful trials, and sometimes, it just takes something small, like a joke at their expense, or even the echo of no one saying anything at all, to push someone over the edge. I've even heard people saying that if they had a gun, they would have no problem going into school and shooting the people that made fun of them, years ago. I trust that its just talk, knowing them somewhat well, but to even be bold enough to say something like that, puts them closer to being bold enough to do it.

In conclusion, I think that even though there are many things we could do to maybe improve the situation, like just being decent people, you can't stop pubescent kids from acting stupid and saying things that they don't mean, and you can't stop people from holding grudges for years, and you can't stop people from being who they are, or who they've pretended to be, and in the end, its always the shooter who has the decision of whether or not to pull the trigger.
